About the role

We’re looking for an Allied Health Professional to provide mental health sessions under the Better Access Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) pathway, for young people (12 – 25 years old), using a Mental Health Care Plan. You will be self-employed and working on contract with our centre, and bulk billing your clients.

What you’ll be doing in the role

First things first, our clinical team will work with you to quickly build up a caseload that is in line with your capacity, skills, and experience. You will always have support from an on-site clinical team including new in-reach positions from Queensland Health and our in-house clinical team.

Second, you will be able to build your own schedule. We will give you flexibility around hours and days you’d like to offer appointments (between Monday to Friday), with some limited out-of-hours availability required from time to time.

You’d be a great fit if

  • You are motivated, organized, and you prefer to manage your own schedule. You would be working autonomously, with support from our clinical team.
  • You’ve got a passion to help your community and build a career working with young people aged 12-25 years old.
  • You’ve got the knowledge and experience to work with a range of presentations within the mild to moderate spectrum. This can include, but is not limited to, stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm alcohol and drug use and family discord.
  • You have tertiary qualifications in psychology, mental health, social work, occupational therapy and/or have a current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) membership.
  • You have ABN and professional indemnity insurance.
  • You have a Medicare provider number and you can bill under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS).
