headspace Echuca is a confidential and free service where young people can access a range of services. We offer a mixture of in-person catch ups and phone & videocall services so that young people can access the support they need. Echuca is a disability-friendly building. Public transport options within Echuca make the centre easily accessible, with local bus stops just around the corner.

headspace Echuca is operated by Echuca Regional Health. All headspace services are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Administration of funding is carried out by the headspace centre’s local Primary Health Network, in this case, Murray PHN.
If you live near our headspace centre in a rural area but cannot travel in to see us, you can see our mental health workers online.

You will meet with one of our Mental Health Clinicians for an hour. They will give you information, ask you questions and answer any questions you might have.

At headspace Echuca we are committed to providing the best care, as close to home as possible. To support this, we have introduced the possibility of telehealth videocalls as an option. Using telehealth, you can have an appointment with your headspace Echuca worker by using our videocall platform. You can do this from your home, at your school, local health service or any location with a reliable internet connection.
Telehealth appointments will only be available where suitable and must be requested and booked in advance through our centre.

headspace Echuca wants to let young people know when, how and where in the community to seek help for mental health problems. So we undertake community awareness activities to help increase the knowledge of young people, their friends, families and the broader community.
headspace Echuca aims to
- improve the mental, social and emotional wellbeing of young people
- increase the level of mental health literacy available
- help people to understand, identify and respond to mental health needs of young people
- support and encourage active youth and carer participation through reference groups
We also create partnerships with local organisations, networks and educational settings to work toward reducing levels of stigma and discrimination associated with seeking help for mental health problems.

Please be mindful that we are also a very busy organisation and would appreciate at least 4 weeks notice prior to your event to help us prepare adequately in supporting you, you families and young people.
For almost all services at headspace Echuca, you do not need a medicare card.
If you need to see our GP, you will need to have access to medicare.
Please note: even if you don't have access to a medicare card, please contact us on 5485 5048 and we will assist where possible.
Many young people are listed on a parent/guardian's medicare card, and we can look up your medicare number without needing the physical card.
For young people aged 15 and above, you can apply for your own medicare card if you want to.
Fill out the medicare application form and return this form with ID (such as your birth certificate or student ID) to the medicare service centre.

headspace Echuca believes youth participation is fundamental to the delivery of quality services for young people. This is why we have a youth reference group to assist with our centre, engagement within the community and linking with our consortium partners. If you're aged between 16 - 25 we would love for you to be a part of it.
We meet Monthly on a set night, with a very casual and relaxed atmosphere that encourages people to speak as much or as little as they want. This could be in regards to youth issue's, events they want to be a part of or create, community support groups, youth campaigns and much more.
