headspace provides counselling and support to young people from 12 - 25 years.  The service covers issues such as relationships, drug and alcohol, mental health, bullying, anxiety, depression, bad thoughts and uncertainty about future plans.

The centre is a safe zone for your people to drop in, check it out or talk to a youth counsellor.

headspace is also a LGBTQI friendly service and invite all young people to visit headspace .

headspace Horsham is operated by Uniting Wimmera. All headspace services are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Administration of funding is carried out by the headspace centre’s local Primary Health Network, in this case, Western Victoria Primary Health Network.


Mental Health Services

Mental health workers – which may include psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and other workers – that can help if you're just not feeling yourself.

Work & Study Services

Workers either on site or linked to the centre who can assist you with work or study opportunities. 

Youth Programs

Centres have a range of programs and activities for young people. Just ask your centre what they have on. 

Alcohol & Drug Services

Workers either on site or linked to the centre who can assist you with any alcohol or other drug issue. 

Youth Reference Group

A group of young people who help with events and some decision making at a centre. Ask your centre about getting involved.

How to make a referral

headspace Horsham has professionally trained staff that are focused on helping young people between the ages of 12 and 25 years to address mental health and wellbeing problems, confidentially and with respect.

All of our services are FREE for young people between the ages of 12 and 25!

How do you access our services?

  • You can walk in off the street and make an appointment in person at 77 Hamilton Street, Horsham
  • You can call us on (03) 5381 1543 and make an appointment
  • You can email us at info@headspacehorsham.org.au
  • You can ask a parent, carer, teacher or the youth service you use to refer you

If you are a young person, family member or friend and you are enquiring about headspace Horsham services for yourself or someone else you do not require a formal referral, simply phone and have a quick chat with one of our staff and they can help you arrange an appointment.


Service Provider and School Counsellor Referrals

If you are a Service Provider, School Counsellor or Welfare staff, you can provide a written referral on behalf of a young person to attend headspace Horsham.

Once completed, please forward your referral, with any accompanying documentation, to headspace Horsham via Post or Email as per details on the attached form.

headspace staff may ask you to fill out a 'consent and rights and responsibilities' form. Staff will provide you with this form in centre based appointments, if you are having appointments via telehealth then staff may direct you to the below link to download and complete this form.

What does confidentiality mean for you at headpsace?

In Australia, laws protect clients' rights to have the information they share with doctors and others who provide health services kept private. These laws mean that what you tell people during a health care appointment must remain private between you and that person or service, except in particular situations.

There may be times when the person you are seeing at headspace is required by law to share information about you with another organisation, your parents or carers, or in some specific situations, court or the police. This may happen if the staff member thinks you or another person is at risk physically or mentally. If you are under 16 and someone is hurting you, we are required by law to make a report to the Police or Child Protection Services.

Whenever possible, a headspace staff member will talk to you first to explain the reason and need for any disclosure of your personal information. However, confidentiality is your right in almost all circumstances. If you aren't sure, just ask the staff member about your confidentiality before you talk to them. We will always do our best to give you a straight answer.
