IDAHOBIT 2018

CELEBRATE IDAHOBIT MAY 17th 2018

Our lead agency, Brophy Family and Youth Services is encouraging the community to stand against discrimination in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ+) mates, colleagues and families. Brophy's LGBTIQ+ equality project; SAFE in the South West, is supporting a raising of the rainbow flag at the Warrnambool City Council Civic Centre at 5:15 followed by Light Refreshments at the Warrnambool Art Gallery at 5:30 on Thursday May 17. SAFE in the South West is also providing information packs to local schools and community groups in support of IDAHOBIT Day.

What is IDAHOBIT Day?

It is the International Day Against HOmophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism & Transphobia. A day to publicly stand with the LGBTIQ+ community. It’s the perfect opportunity for your school or workplace to start small changes that can make a big difference. Following on from the successful yes vote for same sex marriage last year, we ask ALL to show their ongoing support for our LGBTIQ+ communities.
