headspace Mount Barker is linked to headspace Murray Bridge which is a service tailored for the local community.

At headspace Mount Barker we provide a youth-friendly, community-based, cost free health service for young people 12-25 years and their families.  programs for young people. We offer a range of support services including counselling sessions with highly skilled workers along with a range of fun programsfor young people. 

You can make an appointment by calling our office . You can also be referred by a GP, family member, friend, school or another service provider. If you are a service provider, it is preferable that the young person has consented and been made aware of the referral to headspace.

headspace Mount Barker is linked to headspace Murray Bridge and operated by Murray Mallee GP network (MMGPN). All headspace services are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Administration of funding is carried out by the headspace centre’s local Primary Health Network, in this case, CSAPHN (country SA PHN).

Mental Health Services

Mental health workers – which may include psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and other workers – that can help if you're just not feeling yourself.

Sexual Health Services

Sexual health screenings on site or links to local services. 

Youth Reference Group

A group of young people who help with events and some decision making at a centre. Ask your centre about getting involved.

Doctor (GP)

GPs can help with any physical health issues as well as issues related to sexual health, drug or alcohol use, relationship problems or feeling down or upset. Your centre may have a GP on site or links to one locally. 

Alcohol & Drug Services

Workers either on site or linked to the centre who can assist you with any alcohol or other drug issue. 

Youth Programs

Centres have a range of programs and activities for young people. Just ask your centre what they have on.

Community Engagement Worker, Part-time/Sessional

If you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people, 12 – 25 years, particularly those at risk of developing severe mental health issues and with complex needs, then we want to hear from you.  We have a rewarding professional part time role available, based at our Murray Bridge Office.

headspace Murray Bridge is seeking a Community Engagement Worker to join our team in Murray Bridge. The key purpose of this role is to promote headspace services in the community, to coordinate community awareness raising activities in the region, and seek to reduce stigma around mental health issues for young people. This position will also foster youth engagement with headspace and seek community feedback around service needs and gaps through the facilitation of a youth reference group and provision of psychosocial group programs.

We are looking for an applicant with a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences or education.

Remuneration will be negotiated dependant on skills, experience and qualifications.  Our organisation offers generous salary packaging options, 5 weeks Annual Leave & TOIL, in addition to a flexible and supportive working environment.

Youth Reference Group (YRG)

Our YRG invites young people aged 16-25 years to join a fun team who are passionate about mental health and all things youth! If you are interested in having input into headspace services and helping reduce the stigma of mental health by being involved in youth focused events, come along to one of our meetings held once a month on Wednesdays 4pm to 5.30pm.
