community awareness and engagement at headspace Albury Wodonga and headspace Wangaratta

our mission:

Our small, part-time Community Engagement team is dedicated to supporting headspace by promoting positive mental health among young people, families, schools, and organisations in the Albury Wodonga and Wangaratta regions.

what we do:

We focus on spreading awareness about headspace services, the importance of seeking help early, and facilitating access to our services.

let's collaborate!

We love teaming up with schools, TAFEs, or universities to organise activities or events coinciding with significant dates like Mental Health Week, RU OK Day, Harmony Week, Youth Week, or any ideas your students have that are important to them. Together, we can design engaging events centred on mental health and wellbeing.

event partnership and participation:

We offer various collaboration opportunities. We can join and support your events, set up a headspace stall with resources and merchandise, or even co-facilitate workshops either at our centres or pop-up locations. If aligned with our priority groups, we're open to exploring unique partnerships for community events.

learn about headspace:

We conduct presentations for students, parents, educators, and school staff focusing on headspace Albury Wodonga and headspace Wangaratta services. Our talks cover what headspace offers, our programs, our Youth Reference Group (YRG), and how to seek support early. We might also bring along a young person from our YRG or someone with lived experiences to share their journey with headspace.

health-focused presentations:

Our presentations aim to encourage early help-seeking behaviours and cover various topics including mental health awareness, tips for a healthy headspace, physical and sexual health, substance use, bullying education, and early psychosis.

We cannot assist with medical or crisis interventions or requests with a therapeutic focus. For evidence based, clinical run programs, please click here.

priority groups:

Our priority groups include young men, young people disengaged from education, work or study, First Nations young people, young people who use alcohol and other drugs, young people experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness, linguistically and culturally diverse young people, and LGBTQIA+ young people.

Requests aligned with these groups are prioritised.
